LIVING WITH LAMLEH

It's interesting to note the size of some of the dogs that appear back in our pedigrees. No doubt there was more variation than indicated by the figures below. Nevertheless, we see that many successful show dogs fell well within the 15-16 inch range considered average in our standard.
One of my dogs wicketed at
15.625",
a dog some
would consider entirely too small for success in the US show ring today. What is important about this dog is
the relationship between height and substance. He has good
bone and body, good width, a ribcage down to his elbow, and has a
masculine look. Lehlam Agnes was bred by Dr. Greig and imported to Canada after Dr. Greig died. She was 14” (quite small but not undersized), a black and white particolor, very sweet, gentle girl and was considered by Dr. Greig to be the best bitch she ever bred! Kela Shah Lamleh of Kalai (Kela Shah): light golden brindle. 15”, very cheerful, out-going personality Mfo-Ba Re-Ba Lamleh of Kalai (Squeaky): tricolor, 15”, delightful temperament, very handsome, good bone Nyiho La Kalai of Karchen (Sunshine): golden brindle, 15.5”, one of the best TTs Alice Murphy and Margaret Thomas have seen Sen-Ge Snyin Lamleh of Kalai (Richard the Lionhearted): 15” , black with white points Shanak of Lamleh (Shanak): 15”, black with white points. Karchen Lamleh of Kalai (Star): golden brindle, 15.25”, gorgeous and glamorous, fantastic coat, superb movement like her sire Yser-Bu-Mo Lamleh of Kalai (G.G., for Golden Girl): golden brindle, 15.5”, absolutely the best bitch I ever saw. Her conformation was superb and her movement flawless as was Richards. They floated – esp. GG Pai-Cah of Lamleh (Floppy): black with white points, 16” , considered by Nell Hudson (who knows) to be an extremely fine dog Kalula Lamleh of Kalai (Kalula): golden brindle Cog-Cog-Pa Lamleh of Kalai (Cricket): black with white points, within standard in size, a lovely lady
