When Sonny was a pup he asked if
he could stay with me. I said yes. It was a decision I have never
regretted. He brought so much into my life, I wonder now how I could
ever have thought twice about it. Over time every breeder is sure to
encounter that one very special dog and for me that was Sonny. He lived
a long, full, healthy and happy life. His devotion and sense of humor
were boundless. He was my water dog,
relishing
in paddling around in his water bowl, something he passed along to his
children and grandchildren. He loved the TT ladies, leaping and
cavorting as he flirted with them, always a gentleman. He produced
some very successful children and grandchildren and gave them his
optimistic life-loving temperament and big hearted spirit. Fitting the
description of part monkey and part cat, he liked to go to the toy box,
pick out a small soft toy, lay down in the middle of the floor on his
back and play catch with himself, tossing the toy up in the air with his
front feet and then catching it. He liked to wrap his arms around
my neck and shower me with his kisses. His passing was very sudden which is
what I had hoped for him, although nothing could have prepared me for
losing him. He lay in my arms and faded away. He is missed each day
and remembered with love.
