I saw my first Tibetan Terrier in Kabul, Afghanistan in 1971.  He was travelling with a German woman and they made a striking couple.  He was silver in color with one blue eye and one brown eye.  This was what initially attracted my attention but was not part of what held it.  A knee high dog with a very unique personality, part monkey and part cat, captivated me.
It was clear that should I ever own a dog, this was the dog for me.

Fast forward to the time when my husband suggested we bring a dog into our lives.  I went to a Boise dog show to find a Tibetan Terrier breeder and ended up with the name and phone number of  Winnie Wuesthoff who had a litter of puppies in California.  So began a lifelong friendship with Winnie and my love affair with Lamleh dogs.

With the passage of time, more than twenty years, I remain as dedicated to  and enchanted with  Lamleh Tibetan Terriers as when I first brought one into my home.  Tibetan Terriers are in the dog group referred to as  "ancient".  Recent genetic studies have identified fourteen  of these dog breeds and it is no surprise that several of the Tibetan breeds are among them.  When looking into their faces there is a spirit wise, ancient and enduring.  This website pays tribute to some of the dogs who have shared their lives with me and is a record of some of the Lamleh dogs who descend from Dr. Greig's breeding program, the English woman responsible for bringing this unique breed to the western world.
